When using a lure do you need attach weight, leader and swivel to catch these stripers?
Also can anyone tell me if my tackle is ok for surf or pier fishing or fishing in the aqueduct?
1. Medium action rod shakespeare 7ft
2.12 lb pound of triline
3.REEL Gear ratio 4.6:1 14 lb/255yds
4. I use a bait caster such as 2 hooks on a 30lb line and at the end of line i put a 4oz egg sinker weight.
How about my bait?
1.Squid, mussels, and anchovies.

A swivel is necessary for spinning lures to reduce line twist and a leader will help with stealth and abrasion resistance. No weight. The lure used will provide the appropriate weight. Whatever weight your lure is your rod should be rated to throw it.

I've heard anchovies work well in the aqueduct.

thxs man im a noobie at this so i like to ask a lot of questions. Also my friends say that banjo minnows are the best. however my other friend said the chatter bait is the bes? which one do you prefer?

nunae i dont fish the aqueduct. i hear its a bit different out there on the west coast. Striperbill fishes it with 1 ounce white bucktails with a chartruese grub trailer.
