Whats the biggest striper you have ever caught in the upper hudson ....my biggest was 52 inches 47.5 pounds caught bye the port of albany about 5 years ago and i was on a boat with my wife and dad ..WE went back to the same spot the next day and it was packed with boats since then ive stuck to the shore line fishing lol ..
Anyone else caught any that big up this way or was it just a flook day for me 5 years ago?
ALl my stripers tend to run in the mid thirty inch range. My father landed a 40 incher two seasons ago. I don't think yours was a fluke. I think plenty of cows that size make their way up this far to sapwn- they have to. However, I think the timing is critical and that there's a key piece of the puzzle that is missing. Once I figure THAT out, I'll be catching my own 50" beauty.
Since I started hanging around this site, I haven't caught as many, but what I have caught has been higher quality and bigger. I've been targeting bigger fish. I'm getting a 50 this year
