Penn 750ss too much for Tsunami airwave 10' MH

Just got the 10' aiwave, very nice and super light. Main use surfcaster 2-2.5oz plugs and teaser. Question, is the Penn 750ss too much reel? It feels a bit heavy on the rod. I have an emotional attachment to the 750, been using them for years, can take it apart in total darkness. Just doesn't feel right/balanced. Opinioins? Anyone fished this set-up?

I'm not 100% sure as I'm not too familiar with that rod (though I did look at buying one a month or so ago....went with the St. Croix instead) but I think you should be all set once you get the feel of it and get used to the set up. I just bought a 10'6" St. Croix Triumph and will be pairing it with a Penn 850 ssm this upcoming season for surfcasting. I didn't have my Penn (in the shop for some repair/maintenance) handy when my rod came in so I grabbed an old Okuma and threw that on. It did feel a bit heavy but I'm thinking once I get all spooled up have a 3-4 oz. pyramid sinker on the end it will feel a bit more balanced??

I have that exact setup but a 9 foot airwave pole. The 750 is absolutley perfect for mine and i have a smaller rod so im sure it will be perfect for you. I even use the same setup with a 3 oz weight and bunker noggins..
