herring update ?

I went to the meeting in delmar for herring in the hudson.
that Kris Mcshane had from the DEC.
I joined there Cooperative Angler Program, and filled out my fishing log book, and mailed it back to her, 88 people took the books, i don`t know
how many returned them.
she sent me a Email about mid season, as to her work she has compleated,up to that point. had a lot of great info in it.
but haven`t herd any thing sence. if i remenber wright, she had to file her report on the herring,by july something.
i hope they don`t shut down the herring fishing.
she had a great meeting, she showed everyone what the size of the alwives should be in the river,as a full adult, and what the size they are neting. they are much smaller. witch means ,they are younger,
and smaller fish dont lay as many eggs etc.
any how i will post any info i get from Kris,as to updates.

i will give ya some more info on the log books, they wanted to know
when you went fishing/were you launched/were you fished, how long you fished. everything you caught,and how many. and the size / wt.
if you could give that info.
they wanted to know if you fished in the same place all season, or if you launched in dif. places, or ran up and down the river.
And the main thing how many herring you got,ware you got the herring
how many herring you kept in your box, and how many you used all day long, and how many you killed.
this is were Kris is going to come up with her recommendations for new regs. on herring #s.
herring are in trouble, and guys are going to have to change the way they treat herring. Its a huge waste to put 10 or 15 herring in your box. and
have 3 runs all day. or one run. and kill 15 or more herring.
Kris has to come up with a # of herring that you can have onboard, per person on board . that is what the meeting was about as well.

I just got an Email from Kris.
she gave out 90 striper fishing LOG Books, And so far has receved 31 back.

She just got word of a meeting TONIGHT Of The BAITFISH Transport
public Meeting, being held in NEW PALTZ At the Region 3 Office from 7-9 PM
Its being run by the Inland Fisheries Unit, whitch is why you did`nt here
about it early form her.
She said anyone who use`s Herring for Bait ,Mite want to Attend ?
