New To Stripers...

Hey guys, and gals. I am a teenager hailing from Durham, NH, and would love to hook into some stripers. I have two surfcasting rods. (10' Ugly Sticks) The only problem is I need to know which places to go and what to use. There are some places I know about near me... Oviously I can go to beaches and other spots. What are some things to use, and throw at them?

Hi there! Welcome to the site, I'm not very familiar with your area, but sounds like you have some spots that would make for a good starting point. Please refrain from naming them so specifically in the public forums, as this will inevitably lead to you being crowded out of them after thousands of people read about them here online. The places you named sound like there could be some decent current there. You could try some jigs, heavy enough to get to the bottom and let the current work them, and also some plugs that are tailored to quicker water, like darters. Cut makeral or bunker, or live eels should work OK there as well. Get familiar with the search tool,,, there's a TON of info on fishing these baits already written and available to you on this site. Most of all, get out there and fish,, keep track of what works (and when) at your spots. Good luck out there!
