Question stripers/trolling/hook size

I troll a lot but am having a problem when I hook a fish. Seems like if he comes up he will most likely shake the lure. I changed hook size on my lures to a larger treble( no. 2) aand it still happens. I was wondering about changing the rear hook to a single large hook. What do y'all think? Any advice will be welcome.

Alot of customs run single rear hooks.

I personaly remove the belly hook or change to singles on my yo-zuris and retail poppers. (mostly due to a single line wrap on the belly hook alot)

I never change rear hooks because i leave the maker with what he's made and the lure may not swim or work the same.

Sounds like your hooks are dulll or your hooksets aren't hard enough.

Only time i've had a fish come off the hoook is because he broke or strightinged a hook.

sounds like it could just be smaller bass not getting a good bite on the plug.

no way I have seen enough of 2 or 3 of them to know. They were at least 10 to 15 lb. fish. I live on the lake in Georgia with the biggest stripers available. lake record I think is over 55 lb.. anyhow i been regular bass fishing for about 60 years now.
