Progressive is a very good deal. I just shopped around and found that progressive gave me the option of full boat replacement and I pay $300 a year for a brand new $17,000 Sea Hunt with a 115F motor. I couldn't pass it up.

Hope this helps

Don't quote me, but I believe it is optional. However, most marinas will require you carry insurance. Not to mention the fact that with all that can go wrong on the water, you'd be crazy not to have insurance. Tight lines.

Geico was by far the cheapest for me. I use them for my homeowners and 3 cars as well so I get multi line discounts....

Progressive wanted two hundred more then geico...

Im pretty sure if you have taken a boating safety course it will knock money off of your insurance. Ive taken a course with the MA environmental police and the Coast Guard Aux.

Even if you've been boating for years the course may be worth while to save a few $$$.
