Got lucky enough to fish today and get the days pay which is nice. Went back to a couple spots near port ewen and chunked a few fish biggest 33.5 inches. No offense to anyone reading this that was one of the gang that was trolling but I’ve never seen such a rediculous circle of guys trolling ever in my time on the river. They were definitely getting some fish and that’s great but totally rude people to say the least. One guy hooked an anchored boats line and was screaming at them to stop reeling because they thought it was a fish! I would have taken my 30 lb test and ripped the rod right out of his hands if it happened to me. Not very nice at all. The river is shared by everyone and that’s the real deal. Anyway....nice weather and lost more runs then we caught fish but good action. Tight lines guys

38 inch female. Didn't weigh her, got her back in quick after a 5 minute revive. Hit a blood worms 18 feet down in 40fow newburgh side. Water Temps (surface) 58 to 61.. This was an after work trip with my father which made this fish a great memory. The channel was light up with feeding schools once we launched around 430 pm. Slack tide, slowly starting to go back out. Caught around 7 that afternoon. I'll be out Friday afternoon and all day Saturday and Sunday. Tight lines.

Hey Kirch, all on the bottom on live. I don't think I have ever live lined without a weight, maybe I will give it a try.

Was out Friday night all night ended up with one fish 22 inches in Cornwall. Waste of time lol Sunday woke up from a coma and slammed them. 44.5, 41.5,38 And a few lesser. Ran out of bloods but my guy caught the 38 on a nightcrawler just north of beacon bridge. Awesome day!

Great weekend on the water in Greene Co. The fish finder was lit non stop with schools traveling North. If you had bait you were catching. From our 3 trips we boated 26 stripers. Best of the weekend was 41.5" 36lbs. My son caught a nice 35". Stepson caught a 38" and lost a 40"+ right at the net.. he was a bit pissed.

Called in to work today with striper fever. Fished from 6am-1pm. Fish finder was still lit up.. Tons of run and drops/pop offs. Ended the day with 9 up to 35". Water temp was at 61 when I left.

Anyone else seeing monster sturgeon rocketing straight up out of the water?? We witnessed many these past few days. Yesterday we had one at least 7' long jump 3' out of the water 10' from the stern of my boat. Scared the shit out of us lol.

Fishing seems good down south. How’s it been near Albany/Troy? Not too many reports coming in. Hectic work load keeping me from going. Water temps in the 60’s means they’re getting ready to spawn. I know they are in spurts down south. This the last good week?

I was out Thursday and Friday in Newburgh area. They were spawning everywhere. Literally rolling around along side the boat.

Saturday was a decent day out with plenty of fired up males hitting hard. Didn't pick any up higher that the side of the boat while unhooking just to keep the boat clean. (Horny little bastards) Boated a nice fatty just before the storm blew through around Rogers on Sunday and the bite turned on again afterwards. Ran across a female that hit by a prop or a lead ball. Probably got run over while spawning. Gotta keep your eyes open. Hopefully the spawning slows down or more waves of fish are making their way up. Saw a lot of fish moving late last evening up through Marlboro/Milton.

Got a 30 inch at the dam yesterday at dusk and a 24 and two 28's today in Albany plus 3 runs that got off. One thing I noticed fishing for herring, which were plentiful, is I was getting way more white perch on the sabiki. Way more. You? Anyway, here is some vid from the dam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IavBpyN0j4k

After seeing a number of dead fish again this season just a suggestion , please try and release your fish on the side of the boat with out handling , no net using a de hooking tool . Photos are nice but limit ,please don't hang your fish from a grip especially large females . After catching a few what is the difference 31 or 33 or 36 inches it was fun to catch but give these fish a break .Even the male fish when you release them in the water or side of the boat its much cleaner and that sperm is needed to fertilize the eggs I don't think they reproduce the sperm . We all enjoy this wonderful fishery but understand Striper Population isn't doing well overall . I don't mean to offend anyone . Thanks
