Default Canyon Lake (TX) Guide Reports

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 52 degrees; 906.72' (3+' Low):

Stripers are improved from Comal Park down lake swimming 3" Spoiler Shads and vertically jigging Pirk Minnows.

Largemouth are fair in 10'-25' in submerged timber on mainlake
points using Texas rigged 6' green-pumpkin Scoundrel worms,
pumpkin Snap Back lizards and jigging Pirk Minnows.

Smallmouth are good over rockpiles and along deep water ledges
bumping 3" smoke JDC Craws and brown 1/8 oz. hair jigs with pork
strip trailers.

White Bass are fair in 20'-30' channels jigging Pirk Minnows,
Tiny Traps and Lit'l Georges.

Crappie are fair but mostly small on minnows in 20' at the fishing
pier/dock.

Default Canyon Lake (TX) Guide Reports

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 50 degrees; 906.28' (3.5' low)
Water temperatures really haven't effected largemouth, but have
brought the smallmouth shallow.

Largemouth are fair over brushpiles on secondary points in 10'-15'
using purple-red tail Scoundrel worms, whacky rigged cotton
candy JDC Gibronis and small watermelon tubes on jigheads.

Smallmouth are very good to 5 lbs over rockpiles in 6'-18' on
all chartreuse Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits, smoke JDC curl
tail Grubs and crawfish Rebel crankbaits.

Stripers are improving along mainlake points from Turkey Cove
to Comal Park. on 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows, 2" Spoiler Shads, white
bucktails and trolling.

White Bass are fair to good vertically jigging 1/4 oz. silver Pirk
Minnows, Road Runners,. swimming 2" Spoiler Shads and trolling
Shad Raps.

Default Canyon Lake Guide Report

Water gin clear; 53-54 degrees; 906.28' (3.5' low):

Stripers are good/very good at mid lake in 13'-30' w/some serious topwater action on Zara Spooks, Red Fins, etc. and jigging 1/2 oz.
silver Pirk Minnows, white bucktails and 4" grubs on jigheads.

Largemouth are fair to good over brushpiles and along bluff ledges
inside of secondary points in 6'-15' using bubblegum Snap Back
jerkbaits rigged on a weighted 3/0 RED Bait Jerker Hook (Falcon
Lures) school bus yellow floating Scoundrel worms, wacky rigged
JDC bubblegum JDC Gibronis and suspending jerkbaits like Rogues
or Thundersticks.

Smallmouth are very good over rockpiles in 5-20 feet on chartreuse
Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits, smoke-red JDC 3" Craws and
crawfish Rebel crankbaits .

White Bass are good vertically jigging 1/4 oz. silver Pirk Minnows,
Road Runners and trolling Shad Raps.

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 67 degrees; 905.93':
Largemouth are along sloping gravel flats in 3'-12' of water
using crawfish Rat-L-Traps, Skip-N-Pop topwaters, wacky rigged
white Whacky Sticks, smoke-red flake Snap Back tubes and
Daiquiri Dog Bones.
Smallmouth are very good early and all day under cloud cover
over rockpiles from 5'- 15' deep on smoke-red Snap Back tubes,
JDC 3 inch Craws and Pumpkin Devil's Tongues on drop shots.
Stripers are slow to fair jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows, swimming
Spoiler Shads and trolling.
White Bass are fair to good on chartreuse or white grubs, small
Terminator In-Line spinners and 1/8 oz. Tiny Traps.
Crappie are good on minnows at Cranes Mill fishing Pier.

Default Lake Canyon (Texas) Guide Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 68 degrees; 905.74':
Largemouth are fair to good at daylight along mainlake and
secondary points 15'-25' deep on Carolina rigged Big Pig
creature baits, green pumpkin Terminator Pro Series jigs and
Deep Tail Dancer crankbaits. Rootbeer-green JDC Strike Grubs
and green pumpkin tubes produce after midmorning.
Smallmouth are fair at night and at first light over rockpiles in
30' on green pumpkin tubes, watermelon Devil's Tongues
and JDC Strike Grubs.
Stripers are fair vertically jigging Pirk Minnows and bucktail
jigs along humps in 40'.
White Bass fair at night.
Crappie are fair in 25' tight to trees.
Channel Catfish are N/A.
Yellow and Blue Catfish on live bait and Black Salty.

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 64 degrees; 902':
Largemouth are fair to good under cloud cover over brush-
piles in 12'-20' of water using 6" purple Scoundrel worms,
rootbeer-green JDC Craws on jigheads and black-blue
Terminator football head jigs.
Smallmouth are good early along bluff ledges and over
rockpiles using blue Robo Worms w/chartreuse tails,
rootbeer JDC Drop Shot worms on drop shots and smoke/
red flake tubes on jigheads.
Stripers are fair at first light over mainlake humps trolling
Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers, vertically jigging white
bucktail jigs or Pirk Minnows.
Crappie are fair in 10'-15' on white Curb's crappie jigs
and minnows.

Largemouth are good under cloud cover in 10'-20'
of water working pumpkin-green 3/16 oz. Curb's Jigs,
6" purple Scoundrel worms and rootbeer-green JDC
Craws on jigheads slowly along ledges and mainlake
points.
Smallmouth are good early along bluff ledges and
over rockpiles using pumpkin Devil's Tongues w/chart.
tails on drop shots and smoke/red flake tubes on jig-
heads.
Stripers are fair at first light over mainlake humps
trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers, vertically
jigging white bucktail jigs or Pirk Minnows.

Largemouth are good in 12'-20' along ledges and dropoffs
of sloping points using Drop shot pumpkin Devils Tongues,
Texas rigged black-red flake Gambler paddle tail worms
and 4" watermelon Scoundrel worms on 3/16th oz. "giggy"
jigheads.
Smallmouth are good to 3-1/2 lbs early along mainlake
points and bluff ledges using pumpkin Devil's Tongues
w/chartreuse tails on drop shots and smoke/red flake tubes
on 'shaky head' jigs.
Stripers are fair to 7 lbs. in 30'- over 70' along mainlake channels
and humps vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, trolling crankbaits on
downriggers or lead line,
White Bass N/A
Crappie are fair in 10'-18' on white Curb's crappie jigs and

Largemouth are good in 12'-20' along ledges and dropoffs

Smallmouth are good to 3.5 lbs early along mainlake points
and bluff ledges in 4'-15' using pumpkin Devil's Tongues with
chartreuse tails on drop shots and smoke/red flake tubes on
shaky head jigs.
Stripers are fair along river channels and mainlake humps
trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers or lead-line and
vertically jigging Pirk Minnows. No reports of catches on
live bait.
White Bass are fair but small at daylight.
Crappie are fair in 10'-18' on white Curb's crappie jigs and
minnows.

Largemouth are fair to good to 5 lbs. in 10'-15' along transition
spot on bluffs and dropoffs of sloping points with brushpiles using
Texas rigged watermelon/red Gambler paddle tail worms, wacky
rigged chartreuse Whacky Sticks. 4" pumpkin/blue line Robo worms
on "shaky head" jigheads and 3/16 oz. Terminator finesse jigs w/
pork trailers and white, suspending crankbaits.
Smallmouth are good in 8'-15' along mainlake points and bluff
ledges using pumpkin Devil's Tongues w/chartreuse tails on drop
shots and smoke/red flake tubes on 1/8 oz. jigheads.
Stripers are fair and improving along river channels and mainlake
humps vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, white bucktail jigs and trolling
Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers or lead-line.
White Bass are slow.
Crappie are fair on white Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
Catfish very slow.

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 54-55 degrees; 901.64':
Largemouth are good in 8'-12' along transition spots,
around submerged timber and brushpiles on mainlake
and secondary points using 4" watermelon-red Whacky
Sticks on 1/8th oz. jigheads, lightly weighted watermelon-
red plastic jerkbaits, small, char.-blue back crankbaits
and Curb's jigs w/twin tail trailers.
Smallmouth are good early under cloud cover along
sloping mainlake points on Daiquiri Skip N Pop topwaters
and Bleed Shad Rat-L-Traps along bluff ledges with
Terminator finesse and smoke/red flake tubes on jigheads.

Stripers are improved, especially in 'sloppy' weather,
under birds along the mainlake channel trolling Gizz 4
crankbaits on downriggers or lead-line set for 30' and
vertically jigging Pirk Minnows .

White Bass are fair along mainlake channels vertically
jigging 1/4 oz. silver Pirk Minnows and Road Runners.
Crappie N/A
Catfish very slow.
