Check out these blanks. Lamiglas surf and bar series.

I like the stats on the GSB120-1M. I've been wanting to try a composite, but the one I had was just not so good.

Lamiglas tri-flex CSB126-1M blank. I put too many guides on, like an idiot (I was rushed for the fall run)

Good luck!

San, I know you said you fish the back bay. But what kind of fishing? Plugging? Jigging? Chunking? It really helps to know in order to recommend a rod.

I just picked up a St Coix Mojo and this thing is freaking awesome. Or as the we would say up in NE the rod is wicked awesome. I had held it side by side with the Legend and there did not seem to be a $150 differance. Weight wise they are also pretty close, same guides, handle wrap, etc. I now know of a few folks with them and they all like them very much. If your looking for something is the $100 or so range then take a look at the Star Stellar Lite Surf. It is well worth every penny they get for it. Do be aware as some dealers tend to over charge for these rods as many folks that don't know what they sell. Not knowing and if you held one you may also think it is worth $200 or more. The Star Stellar Lite also has a Lifetime Warranty. It may also be my next rod and a Star will most definitely be one of my new boat rods

With the Lami I also have the XS101ms which is also a nice rod and about $100+ less than the Super Surf. The Arra is also a nice rod, I have used the 1204 which is a pretty sweet stick.

I too recommend the Tsunami Airwave. Great warranty...in store exchange with NO questions asked. I snapped an 11' and they exchanged it immediately. Just purchased my second Airave... 9' this time.
