Wondering where the 2017 thread is as well. I just joined and am going out for the first time on Saturday. Was hoping to not travel much further south than the Tacony bridge but, the water still looks cold.
Have been out a few times. Caught losts of shorts and cats. One slot fish. May avoid the river tomorrow with the winds and the tournament. Warmer days ahead. Sunday looks to be the better day.
Went out for about 4 hours at the mouth of the Rancocas Creek, tried bloodworms, bunker and clam - no bites. We caught the tide change and fished the outgoing tide into sunset.
Maybe it's too early for them to be this far north, but we were hoping to get at least a few slot fish.
Gonna get back out there on Wednesday, perhaps we will head a bit further south.
Ok so I'm near the CBB on the Pa side. Any suggestions on a place I can pickup some bait??? Bunker or bloods??? I can't find any around here. I was hoping to get out some time this weekend.
Have seen 1 >40" striper caught about Apr 1, below the Del Mem Br. Since that time (~2.5 wk period) only seen ~ 4 stripers caught in same area (all shorts). Am not sure where the fish are at this time. Not really sure if the run has occurred or not.
I haven't been out on the lower river / upper bay in a couple of years so I'm looking for an area to start out in. I'll be coming out the the C&D and can run North or South as needed.
