New to site
I'm new to this site.
I just retired, just bought a new boat, and I'm moving to Southern Indiana soon.
I'd never even heard of Wipers until recently and I'm looking forward to catching my first Striper. I'll probably have a lot of questions about lakes, equipment, techniques, and laws. Hopefully you all can help me out.
My first question is about GPS / fishfinder combos. I heard you can get lost on some of those big reservoirs. I'm getting an upgrade for my boat and I don't know much about the different models. Especially the mapping software. For example, would I be better off keeping the Lowrance X47 and adding a GPS only unit. How about a cheap laptop and using my Garmin 12?
