inside of vertical timber w/deeper water nearby using Texas
rigged watermelon-red Creme Scoundrel worms, 4" pumpkin
Ring Worms and smoke-red Snap Back tubes. Bass are
schooled up by year class roaming openwater flats and
creek channels feeding on shad on the surface. Spinnerbaits
plastic swim baits and lipless crankbaits will be your best
lure choices when you run across surface activity. Terminator
football head jigs & silver Pirk Minnows (around pods of shad)
are producing when worked down secondary points and/or
natural submerged rock jetties in 12'-25'
Smallmouth are very good over shallow rockpiles and along
bluff ledges in 3'-10' on smoke colored 4" inch JDC grubs,
1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps and split shot rigged Devil's Tongues.
Stripers are improving but surface activity is short-lived
over areas with humps in 40'-60' vertically jigging Pirk
Minnows, weighted white Snap Back jerkbaits and cranking
deep diving Rogues.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 60 degrees; 1013.76' (6' low)
Bass fishing continues to be very good with largemouth
holding to annual fall patterns of high activity, foraging and
feeding along and inside of mainlake and secondary points
of pockets from Hog Island to Cedar Point . Spinnerbaits
and lipless crankbaits are the most effective lures for
covering a lot of shallow water over flats where the most
active fish are positioned.
Largemouth are good to 6 lbs over flats with stumps and
laydowns in 2'-6' using 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-l-Traps,
white custom tungsten Terminator spinnerbaits and Texas
rigged green-pumpkin Scoundrel worms. Chartreuse-blue
back crankbaits and Carolina rigged Big Pig Creature Baits
Stripers are good to 26" in 30' from Flag to Shaw Island
vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows, white bucktails
w/plastic trailers and tight-lining live bait.

Bass are good in 4'-10' in brushpiles along channel breaklines,
docks and laydowns using Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigged green-
pumpkin Scoundrel worms & white-chartreuse-blue Terminator
spinnerbaits.
Stripers are day to day in the shoals on natural 3" Spoiler Shads
and Rat-L-Traps and Terminator In-Line spinners.
White Bass are good early on Tiny Traps and 2" Spoiler Shads.
Crappie are fair to good at night on minnows.
