Few Questions
Hi. Im new to striper fishing. I fish alot but have never caught a striper till last year by mistake I cought a 17 inch one. Well now I want to catch a big one. I dont know much about striper fishing so I have a few questions. I want to use my boat which is a normal pleasure boat 19' Renken with a 75 horse engine. Doesnt like to go slow so trolling is out. I wanna do the sit and fish thing. So my question is what is the best line to use on my pole? How do I set up the rig? What is the best bait to begin with? When is the best time to start trying to catch em I live in Kingston, NY What time and month should I start trying. I can go to poughkeepsi area. I have a real good fish finder the Humminbird 797C2 With Side Scan Sonar and Down Imaging.
Also a couple of boating law questions.
My buddy is always asking me if he can bring beer on the boat I tell him no because I dont know the legal answer to the question? I know you cant drink and operate the boat but can passengers have beer?
