Hey guys....,I'd like to say thanks for the site and to all the members that post here.Your knowledge of plug building is remarkable. My question is about expoxy and does it seal the plug from water? What i mean is....water gets in through the grommets right and is the BLO the only protection from the water. You can't seal the belly grommet with expoxy because the swivel needs to be able to do it's job.Did I miss something guys or is that just the way it done? This is my first post and I have a feeling there will be more...........Thanks, Markg
If the plug has soaked in BLO mix and then cured, there will be a layer of BLO throughout every exposed surface on the plug, the stuff soaks into the wood.
I quit using BLO, but not because I had water intrusion problems.
Your plug should last just fine.
Good to hear that and thanks for the respose Ed......had a feeling but wasn't to sure the BLO would protect, I wanted to make sure before I expoxy.:thu:
