Default Fishing in NJ for the week beginning Friday11/11

What, how, boat or beach and when is great but please don't be too specific naming the spots, Bayshore, Hook, NoMon, SoMon, NoOcean, SoOcean......... is plenty.

Bayshore = Parkway Bridge to Atlantic Highlands
Hook = Sandy Hook
NoMon = SeaBright to Asbury Park
SoMon = Bradley Beach to Manasquan
NoOcean = Point Pleasant to Seaside
IBSP = Island Beach State Park
SoOcean = Toms River to Forked River
For river or back bay fish just use one of the above terms and follow with "in the back"

Thanks Ed

Just got in from 32 1/2 hours of beating my head against the wall in NoMon looking for a 34" minimum fish.
A handfull of very small fish on Bombers and teasers in the dark Fiday night - absolutely nothing in the daylight then a handful of cookie cutter 25"ers in the dark again on Sat night.

I'm spent.

That's a yeoman effort there dude!
Anyone from the club find anything? I'm going to try a bit tomorrow evening just for fun, then I'm down to A.C. for 3 days for a convention....I'm going to try to sneak out at some point to Al McReynolds' jetty for a little"tribute" fishin', just the plugging rod and a few things to break up the monotony.
They're coming, right? I keep telling myself that....hope I'm right.

Ed

I don't have the weights yet but the word is that we won again - one more and we sweep the entire year.

We had 4 fish the second place club had 2
(34" min from Thursday midnight to Sunday noon - Holgate to South Amboy - feet on the ground only)

That makes for a total of 21 fish in 3 weeks between a few hundred guys - unfriggenbelievable !!!!

Default Got a few shorts tonight but had a consisten bite

Finally had a consistent night. Fished the NJ bay in the (edited - too specific. Bayshore is enough ~ Sudsy) area. The bite went on all night with lots of shorts. Droped to 5/0 hooks on 12lb terminal tackle. 1/2 ounce weights on fish finders and light casting rods. I had the big stuff but could not catch a cold with it. Now that I have a nice bunch of shorts under my belt I am ready for a nice 25lb fish

Here are the results for the weekend surf tournament
Cut n paste from Geisers column in the Asbury Park press

nine striped bass were caught with a total weight of 144 pounds. This was the full production of perhaps 200 or more surf fishermen, many of whom are among the top beach fishermen in the area.

Gibbons said the Shark River Surf Anglers won the tournament with 56 points with scoring based on a point per pound. The Shark River club has not lost an inter-club tournament this year, and they are noted for covering a lot of territory both in the surf and in the rivers.

Jerry van de Sande, a member of the Spring Lake Live Liner Fishing Club, caught the largest bass, a 19-pounder. It was the only fish caught by a member of his club, which placed fourth in the tournament.

The Berkeley Striper Club placed second with 37 points. The Berkeley Club members put a lot of emphasis on the stretch from Island Beach State Park through Lavallette.

The Asbury Park Fishing Club placed third with 32 points. The Asbury members usually work the surf from Ocean Grove to Sandy Hook. Four other clubs failed to catch a bass that could be weighed in the tournament.

Pathetic - this keeps up I'm taking up golf
