Hello gents. I'm thinking of up grading my light weight boat/small surf set up. Right now I use either a 6' custom rod I got o the east end and a 7' penn spinfisher, both have tica camry 3500's on em. They have treated me well, but the reels are plastic and are starting to wear and the rods get me a little nervous if big fish are around. I'm looking for a rod in the 7' foot area that is light weight has back bone and cast well. I was looking at the St. Croix Avids but their kinda pricey, if any one has any ideas or wants to share their light weight set up let me know. Oh yeah I'll be mostly throwing 3/4oz to 1-1/2 oz poppers as well as storms and jigs up to 2oz.
Thanks in advance

I used a Tsunami rod for quite some time for that purpose.
I found it did the job well until it got broken. (stepped on)
Its around the same price as the ticas.
I also have a few Tica dolphins (a bit more expensive) but still
under 100 bucks.
I liked the tsunami the best but thats just me.
It felt comfortable, especially the price.
St Croix I own is $185 locally.
Tica was under $75.
To me that's a lot.
