Question Tom's River, Seaside Heights, Atlantic City?

Hi everyone,
This will be my 2nd attempt since a teen at shore fishing. I just got some cheap starter tackle and itching to do more than wet the line!
I'm visiting my parents in Tom's River this holiday weekend and should have a couple of hours free for some surf/jetty/pier fishing, and then we are heading Sunday to AC, staying at Ballys, so I can throw some plugs or soak some bait at either/both areas. Does any one have any pointers for this newbie? Feel free to PM or EM. I promise not out any spots/secrets, and I really would appreciate some advice since I am not familiar with the NJ shore at all.
I'd welcome any company if the timing works out!
Thanks!
Jeff in NY

Just as a follow-up, I found some info on a couple of other forums for Seaside heights, Park and Island Beach State Park as well as Atlantic City and Brigatine. EM me if I can provide the names of the forums if anyone out there is interested, but google worked for me! Catfish Hunter was very helpful on Seaside Heights info! I went out Saturday to Seaside Heights and Park, and Sunday in A.C. I'll post a report on the NJ forums asap.
Now that I'm back, I hope to get back out here in NY to get my first striper!
Jeff

So how was Seaside?
Has the summer *Guido infestation begun yet? (*The term being used to describe the overly primped, eyebrow waxing, lip gloss wearing, on the verge of transvestite, metro-sexual/latent homosexual, Staten Island/Brooklyn/N. Jersey Bennies - not the ethneticity)

LOL,
As I was leaving the boardwalk area near the Casino fishing pier, it was just like Spring Break! Drunken kids hanging out everywhere, out the windows and balconies of the motels, cruising the streets and boardwalks, screaming their bloody heads off. I saw a bunch of them in the water, what was it-56 degrees? I think they still believed the MTV Summer House was still in Seaside! Seems like a couple more Tat and piercing parlors opened up!
I bet the kids keep the police station down the block pretty busy! Gentlemen, hide your daughters!

Sudsy, Aren't those the the Gotti Grandsons?
I used to see their Mom, Uncle and CO. at my courthouse back in the day. Got a little scary when I'd somehow run into some of the G crew around town. I was getting a bit paranoid but I think we just hung out, shopped and patronized the same places, Howard Beach, Bayside, Forest Hills, College Point-go figure.
And just to give my post a nudge back on topic, there seems to be a lot of fish being caught on the Jersey Shore, just none by me...yet!
