Re: 2018 STRIPER REPORTs
Fished above Albany today...fed a catfish...Awesome! Hopefully the water warms up a little. Cannot jig herring yet either. Seems to be the case today. Better luck tomorrow.

Re: 2018 STRIPER REPORTs
4/30
Fished catskill from 5am-2pm. Bait was easy. Other than that, no action whatsoever. Got pissed on all day and froze my ass off for nothing.
5/1
Went out 6am-noon, took a break then headed back out from 2pm-7pm. Took a bit more work to get bait. Outgoing was dead. Finally had some action the last hour of incoming through the first hour of outgoing. Landed two up to 29", had a few run and drops, snapped my line on another and pulled in a 32" cat. Everything was on chunk. Didn't get so much as a bump on my live pole.

Fished around Albany 8-12 Yesterday and today. Saw distinct layers of fish on the screen...no takers though...not even a nibble.

Re: 2018 STRIPER REPORTs
Spent a couple hours on the rocks at the dam this afternoon, nothing. Used chunk on the bottom. Debris started floating in as time went on. Lots of boats out, trying to anchor in whitecaps along the do not anchor portion. Had 911 ready!! They will be biting up here soon.

Re: 2018 STRIPER REPORTs
We fished Newburgh and Marlboro today from 6am to midnight. Ended up with 20 in Newburgh from Dennings to the NBB and 4 in Marlboro. No solid schools but steady fish coming by all day...largest was 27 inches....most in the low 20s. Nice hot day. The fish are getting more aggressive on the hit and many were running south so they are ready to school up and feed. Water temp got up to 52 degrees. All caught on bloods.

Re: 2018 STRIPER REPORTs
Last three times out from shore in Highland, have been able to get live herring out but only one run that snagged up & broke off. Guys have been getting them sparingly from the low 20" range up to 41" is the largest I've heard from shore in this region.

Re: 2018 STRIPER REPORTs
Fished 04/30 from 10AM til 5PM and 05/01 1PM to 7PM from Esopus Island to KRB both days.
Trolled Rapala #18 at 14 to 20 ft and tried to hold in water between 20' and 35'.
Only took 1, an 18" just south of Rhinecliff Train Station at 16' in 30' of water.
Hoping the warm weather heats things up!!
