Default What type of Browser do you use?

When coding for web work we have to take into account the browsers that people are using. What type of Browser do you use?
Firefox ended 2005 with nearly 10 percent of total browser market share, according to recent research, which claims one in 10 Web sites don't allow full access to Firefox users. IE is down to an 85% share

Firefox is by far more secure than IE,
Anyone know anything about the apple safari on the mac.
I dont like the quick time because of the spam associated with it.
I-tunes are annoying imo

According to Kevin Yank in a recent issue of the SitePoint Tech Times:
"Word on the street is that, upon its release (before year's end), IE7 will be pushed out as a forced update to Windows XP users everywhere, as was done for Service Pack 2. The move to IE7 among the end-user masses will not be a gradual migration, but a sudden and significant shift."
One night Windows XP users will go to bed using IE6 and the next morning they'll wake up, install a routine update, and just like that they'll be using IE7 to browse the web. That means, that as a site owner, you need to begin preparing immediately for IE7's impending release.
What's different about IE7?
From a user's perspective, improvements include tabbed browsing, better printing, RSS feed integration, more advanced searching, and better security features, as well as a plethora of add-ons to enhance the user experience (similar to Firefox extensions).

I will tell you, at work we have TONS of problems with IE7 not being compatible with our databases......I'd hate to see it as a forced update

Not to mention IE is the favored target for hackers N crackers. Yeah, they can update it all they want and promise people the world, yet still they will be the #1 target, and exploits will be almost immediate.

Took me a 2 tries, almost a year apart, to get used to Firefox. But once I tried it the second time, I was sold, and havent looked back since.

The browser can be uninstalled and reverted back to IE6
I E 7 has so many quirks . It can be a pain to use and the interface takes time to get used too
Its new phishing filter brings up false positives with nortons software to legit websites. Apparantly some of paypals code triggers false reads. What a pain in the butt.

Firefox is still better but its tougher to configure for email settings and other addons.
(Figure)
Who has the time to figure this stuff out?

The way I feel about this IE stuff is that I don't want to.
I just want to get on line and do my thing.
I say leave all that other stuff for the fella's who are into it.
I love surfcasting, that's my baby!

BTW, I have IE6, and it gets me where I want to go.

Cool Re: What type of Browser do you use?

Hey Jim, I agree Firefox is MUCH better! It gets less popups, they have the original "tarbbing" feature for multiple browser windows, and it's not a Microsoft product.

Jim I like the opera browser alot. It displays somethings a bit differently.
It has a tendency to freeze when you try to open things too quickly.
But I love the quick access speed dial feature that allows you to put your favorite sites on the front page. That way you can have several home pages.
I havent used it often enough to prefer it yet. I still open IE first and firefox second.
