daiwa sealine x 8 ft and shimano sedona 6000... hoping this will do the trick for surf and troll??? can't remember $$$

I have several I use, anything surf chunking is at least 11', plugs I have a couple 8' and a couple 9' rods. TRolling I rely on my cousin's stash of Trolling combos he keeps on his boat. What action is your rod? If its too lite I'd avoid it for trolling, you'll end up with way too much bend in the rod. casting a plug in the surf it will work, but for anytype of bait, I prefer something taller (unless you're on a jetti) 8' rod doesn't keep your line out of the wash and makes it really hard to see the subtle hits

I'd try a shorter for for trolling...like around 6'6"

If you troll wire you need guides that won't get grooved or break...

rod says " 8' M 3/4-3 oz 12-20 lb" is that medium action?

I would say yes, appears to be on the heavy side of medium but still medium. the 3/4-3oz is the lure weight acceptable for that rod 12-20lb is the line wieght recommended for that rod
