Been fishing the Abu Garcia Cardinal 807 spooled with 20# Fireline this spring. I haven't had it in the sand and it hasn't gotten dunked yet but so far I'm very impressed. The reel is a tank with a very, very strong drag.
I fished it very tight the other night in a lineup out on a sand bar, bait fishing with a few friends and taking fish to 16+ lbs, not a time that you can let a fish run around and tangle everyone up. The fish came to hand fast, still green. This reel on the 10'9" AnyFish AnyWhere rod is a really great combination. I think it's going to be my go to setup when the big girls start hitting pencil poppers out front I particularly like the spool configuration which allows the 807 to cast a mile, almost as far as my new Daiwa Surf Saltiga (which costs as much as three 807's).
As for the Saltiga, I'm not sure it's worth the money. I'm really enjoying fishing with it. It casts like nothing else I've ever owned and the drag is absolutely butter smooth but the reality is, there are too many little parts which equals too many things that can go wrong - I'm not entirely sure I trust it yet.

If I were to buy one or the other right now, it would be the 807.

I added the 525 mag reels to replace two Abu CT reels for this season. After using the 525 mag for the past month they just seem to fit my needs better than the Abu reels that have been my main reels for years. I am sorry that I did not make the transition earlier.

Still waiting to cast the Cabo reels out this fall. I just got some wonderful plugs that may mean I can break one out of the box to cast. Then again I am not big on plugging after living in the dark side.
