Default New to this room, New to Fishing the Hudson

Hey...Just found this board....Awesome conversations!

I am an avid surf fisherman who recently moved to Croton. I've never fished the Hudson, and would love some pointers. I am itching to go, since I can walk to Croton Point from my house.

Thanks

godek,
Welcome to the board!! I'm quite a bit north of you, but I'm sure the Hudson River guys will pipe up soon. Also, you'll find a lot of good, up to date information on fishing the Hudson in the Hudson River regional forum. Link below.

I fish the Hudson North of you mostly. I do however fish your area for early stripers. I usally fish around the Tappenzee flats. I have a buddy who lives in Slotsburg, he loves Fishing in and around Croto. Normally I use blood worms or Bunker in you area. I hear there still cathing rock fish. Good luck and welcome to the site.

WELCOME TO MY NEIGHBORHOOD LOL....i fish croton all the time!!!!

Get your hands on a jon boat with atleast a 9.9 HP motor 25 is better and thats all u need for the croton!

When you enter the croton harmon train station you walk/drive to the end all the way back were we launch our boats. Talk to the guys that hang around there and your as good as gold!

i perfer to go out on low tide so we can cross our boat under the tressel, if u dont you cant make it when the tide is high otherwise your looking for trouble!!!

NEVER GO on a boat alone in the HUDSON. Those waters are calm 1 minute the next the white caps are flowing in the boat!!!

If you have no boat - the fishing under the church on the train tracks is good! Theres a good drop there where the strippers and cat fish tend to hang out.

I LOVE HELPING PPL OUT :P
