We went out on the maiden voyage of the new boat. Had trouble with the main motor so we trolled around with the kicker pullin rattle traps and rapalas. I got hit on my Xrap by a sea monster. It took 20 min to get him in ,not with out a lot of boat manuevering because I had 6lb floro leader and no net! There was another smaller one chasing but we couldn't get him to bite. It measured 37" with a girth of 28" around ,and weighed with a hand scale 29-30lbs. Biggest fresh water fish I've ever caught ,or seen

I was thinking of releasing him the whole time ,but by the time we finally got him close to the boat with the light line ,he was doing the death roll. Tried reviving him but he kept turning belly with not much movement, thats when we pulled him for picts.

Not weighed on a certified scal so it wont qualify as a new record but it will qualify as a line record.

"It's too late for weighing, but I do have pictures of the measurements, if that helps at all. Oh well ,it did taste better than I thought it would ,kinda like snook".
