these are some land locked hybrids and stripes out of my lake. there are much bigger fish in the lake, but i enjoy catching a limit of these fiesty critters. they taste better than the big ones anyway.

you are allowed to keep 10 a day with the only size restriction being you cant keep more than 2 being over 24 inches(i think... it might be 28 inches). these fish are landlocked and can't reproduce naturally in the lake. every year the DNR stocks the lake with 500 thousand fish. you wouldn't believe the number of fish in the lake. every year around august and sept. the "schooly"fish school on the surface and it is not uncommon to see a school of fish a couple acres in size. just as fast as you can cast a torpedo, reel the fish in, get em off the hook and cast again, that's how fast you can catch em. it's a lot of fun. the schoolies are usually in the 3 lb range, but the fight like the devil and are great to eat.

it was me and one of my buddies that fished that day. some of the fish in the pic are ctas, and there are a few white perch in there too. clarks hill lake is loaded with them. they are not native and there is no limit on them. they are fun to catch bouncing a hopkin's spoon on the bottom if you can find where they are hanging out.

there are lots of big stripes in the lake. the big ones come on planer boards around march, and cut bait on the bottom in the summer. big one require different technique than these little hybrids. they also require a lot more patience. i prefer the fast action and better table fare and the smaller fish. here's some big ones i caught on planer boards back in march.[img]

this is a hybrid

they are not as long and slender, and the lines are broken up a good bit more than the striper's.
