Default new guy needs some help

Hey my name is Ryan and im 19 and live in Boston and a college student . i am pretty new to striped bass fishing and trying to get into getting kinda tired of the freshwater fishing to be honest. I was wondering if you guys could help me out and maybe give me a few places to try and what tackle and bait i should bring with me to start out with. i am going to Black Falcon Pier in early may at night to try my luck with a friend of mine. Anyone familiar with that area have any tips to share?it would be greatly appreciated, see you guys around

Welcome aboard!

Read through the threads in the Beginners Clinic Forum.
Plenty there to help get you started on the right foot.

It will be a couple more weeks before you really seen any decent spring run fish around Boston, but there are probably some resident fish around that are hungry.

Welcome to Boston!

Check out the island ferry. It takes you to George's island and then there's an island hopper to other islands. Make a day of it and fish the edges of the islands - looking for structure and moving water. This gets you away from the crowds. Also, when the water temp heats up in July/August, it's a bit cooler near the outer islands and you can have a better chance at a nice bass. You can also catch flounder sometimes casting from the islands on a sand worm.
