Question 1st season fishing striper

Hi Everyone
This is my first season fishing striper I have done alright for my first time I have caught a 27" that is my largest one this season. The only problem I have is getting my bait past the blues fast enough does anyone have any pointers or advice on what I can do to fix this problem I am having? Thanks

It would all depend on about 4 dozen factors. None of which you supply. But I can over simplify it.

Try casting uptide of the activity, to get your bait below the blues when it swings into the strike zone.

A vague answer, sorry, but a vague question.

One more thing. Try throwing heads. The blues generally hit the back of the bait they are eating. Cows are sometimes full of heads when feeding below blues.

Good luck.

Sorry about the vague question but thanks for the advice i will try it. If you have anymore pointers for me on how to catch the bigboys I am all ears. Every little bit of advice will help. I usually fish stripers with clam bellies is that good bait or should i try different type of bait. I really appreciate all of the advice. I just want to become a great fisherman and i want the disappointing nights of not catching anything to come to an end.

Donerite: I fish with fly or light spinning tackle with artificial bait. I have written quite a few articles on such and I hope this will give you some help. They are in the right column on my home page.
