Re: Fishing the Storm
I don't know about the storm theory. I was taught growing up that stormy weather, right before, and even during, makes the fish put the feed bag on. Here in southern Maine on Saturday, had some rough surf, but not too bad, managed 14 fish, chunking bunker, 3 of which just missed the 40" mark. On Sunday, the surf was very mad, throwing herself all over the beach & rocks. I got a late start, didn't start fishing until 8:00AM or so. First fish was a nice 40" cow that took me for a ride, thought she'd cut me off on the rocks, but I managed to turn her and landed successfully. Only caught 5 fish total. I feel that if I went out earlier, and fished the entire outgoing tide, I would have caught some more. This isn't the first time that I have fished in a storm, and for the most part, yes I have caught fish.
