Default Blue vs Striper

I was fishing the Boston Harbor today and had about a 20" bass on. As I got the bass close to the boat I noticed a big blue following it. "Wow, look at the big blue" I remarked to my buddies. Right then it slammed the the bass and bit it's tail clean off. I pulled in the bass (still alive) and its was missing about 20% of it's body. I felt bad for it but at the same time it was pretty cool to witness something like that. When I threw it back it was floating and wiggling it stump in the water and at a distance it seemed like another blue hit it again. Has anyone ever seen blues taking on bass that size before?

Just thought I'd share this story because I'd never seen anything like that before.

any fish that gets caught near me is probably thinking "omg! now i'm toast!" cause if you don;t get him or her in quick enough chances are a bluefish (or shark) will nail it . it breaks my heart (and spirit) when that happens. yellow eyed devils
