Default Hi-- new surfcaster here!

Hi,

I am from the North Shore, but currently live in the Metro West area (feeling so landlocked). I can't wait to get out there this year.

I always fish the north shore and have 2 regular (and completely different) spots, but would like to try the south shore/Cape/Rhode Island this year, and will be looking for a kind-hearted person to point me in the right direction in a week or two.

I'm also planning a trip to Machias/Lubec area in Maine for June, I'll be in Mid-Coast Maine here and there throughout the summer, and will be on the Outerbanks at the end of August. Have bait, will travel!

I fish simple, and just try to think like a fish. I have an extra set-up for my friends who don't have their own. I am looking to improve my cast (for distance).

Hi Boots!! Welcome to the site!
Sounds like you definitely need to get in on some of the gatherings we have planned for this summer. We have one planned for Rhode Island on May 17th, one at the Cape Cod Canal for the first week of June, and then the one up in Maine that Dave mentioned. Check out the Events & Gatherings forum for more info. Also, after you have 5 posts on the board, you can join Gunny's Group in your User Control panel, which will provide access to a closed forum where more details are posted than are available to non-members.

Hope you can join us! The RI gathering is absolutely not to be missed!! Lots of great food, folks, and best of all great fishing!

Hey Boots!
Good to see another Fisher-Woman on board, we have a couple more, including my better half.
Get me an Email, and I will put you into the loop for all the gathering info you can't get in the public forums.
[email protected].
If you want to learn Rhodie, I might be able to point you in the right direction, I've been fishing it for over 40 years.

Wow-- thanks for the warm welcome. It sounds like the gatherings are not to be missed. I will be in Arizona in mid-may, and will have to miss the RI Gathering-- dang. But the Cape Gathering dates are looking good. I will definitely be sending an email to the Gunny (thanks!) to get in the loop.

Welcome aboard Boots. I hear ya about being landlocked as I used to live in the Metrowest area (Framingham to be exact) for 28 years before moving up to OOB, ME. I was only able to get out a couple times a year when I ventured down the Cape. Drop me a line on here if you're in southern Maine as I catch 'em off O.O.B. ALL summer long.

P.S. Hey Colad, where do u and ur gf work in Framingham, that's my old stomping grounds.......
