Landed 2 fish this morning near schodack 14 FOW on chunk bait. Both around 20" water temp 49

Fished 6 pm to 7 pm today. Landed my biggest ever. 43" 38#. Just below the EML on the outgoing tide in 27 FOW down 16'. Haven't figured out how to rotate the picture though.

Where is EML? I fished between Albany in Troy from 7-11:30 with one bite all night but felt like a catfish. Fished chunk.

Hit Albany from 8-12 today. Only a couple tugs from catfish on chunk. Nothing on live...bait was easy to come by today.

Got out this afternoon for the 1st time. Mostly to make sure the boat is ready for the weekend. Spent a few hrs near Whites on the incoming. Marked a lot of fish near the east side of the channel and south of the marina. 1 @ 16" and 2 hits.

Wind was running with the tide so drifting pretty fast even with the sock.

We fished Newburgh 5/3 and 5/4. First and possibly last trips of the season.

5/3: I gave my cousin 1st, 3rd, and 4th hits and he lost them all. I caught the 2nd bite while he was asleep and landed a 8lber. Bites were on first half of incoming tide between 9:30 to 2pm. Most bites were at 15-24' of line with 2oz, 30 FOW. Main channel was 54°F and up to 56°F in shallower areas.

5/4: Got out by 7:30am, caught 2 on the end of the outgoing tide, 2lb and 14lb, then a 7lb at the start of incoming. We packed up at 4pm and landed 9 more schoolies the rest of the day. All 3 adults caught at least one.

We started running out of BW around 1pm, and on our last drift we got waved down by a PA Aluminum Bass boat. Their engine died and we towed them 2mi back to the NB launch. They left us with 10 boxes of blood and sand worms. We gave 5 boxes to another boater as they hooked up and stayed another hr to land 3 more schoolies.

Lots of fun and I hope we can make it out one more time before they all leave.

We hit the water midnight yesterday and fished till midnight last night. Had to dock as the incoming cold front created some nasty wind and waves. Yesterday morning before sunrise there were huge marks north of Marlboro east side but no takers. They started to hit at sunrise. We picked up a buddy...caught a few more in front of Whites the hit Newburgh bay and ended the day with 22 total up to 27". We started seeing thicker pods of fish but no schools yet. The bite was best on incoming tide. Water temp went from 52 to 54 degrees. Going back out now since it calmed down.

if anybody knows if Haverstraw Bay is still good spot for strippers or they already moved north.

Took my son out in Catskill for 6 hours this am. Bait was very easy. Only ended up with a run and drop. Not much touching chunk either.

On another note.. idc if you fish everyday or once a season. Use your head out there. On top of boats going by so close that I could spit on them, I had some clown try to drop anchor no more than 20' off my stern. It's Miller time.

Got out today for the first time this year . Fished the Beacon side from the harbor to Dennings. Landed only one. 4 lb 9 0z drifting bloods. Had one solid run but it was off before I grabbed the rod. saw one nice fish caught by another boat that looked 12 to 15 lb.
