Default Rod repair/building question

i've got a fresh water pole that broke real close to the handle so the whole top part is intact (I stepped on it night fishing hahahah) So i have both pieces is there anyway i can repair this myself or should I just trash it and get a new one?

how far up the butt is it. Is it near the reel seat or farther up. and how long is the rod. You have two pieces, is it a two piece rod or was it one piece to start. Before you stepped on it. If it is broken way down in the butt section, you could put a sleeve in it. you would need a section of rod from another blank.

In front of the for-grip or where the crosswrap would be?

Put a sleeve up inside it. The rod maybe stiffer? Thats the only way I know. Take the butt cap off and slide up a sleeve. go to a yard sale and buy a cheep old rod. cut off the piece that matches your rod and stick it in until it fits tight. You want the same taper. take it out again and put some glue on it .(Ply o bond) Cut off the extra so thats it's even with your blank. Put the end cap back on. done? good luck
