Default As season's go

Well this season has been over for me, for about a month now. Family business put the kibosh on most of Oct.
Nut as season's go, this one was surely different. As there were bass around, and I got my share of C&R, they were not as plentiful as in years gone by.
I hope and pray, that next year will be a bountiful season, for us all.
And one last thing, it was a BLAST!

Hi Jimmy-
Definately a strange season.
I thought I was doing alright to poorly. After talking to others I guess I did pretty good after all.
As you mentioned, fish were around,, nothing in bigger groups (except for a couple of the usual hot spots). Really had to look around because they seemed to move a lot this year.
I never saw many little guys in my travels, and blues were rare indeed.
Well, at least until later in the year,
I'm still used to finding blues in abundance around the full moon of May. Not in the past couple though. This year I didn't get my first Blue until August I believe. But Spring time stripers were hot, hot, hot if you didn't mind the rain and chill.
Most of my fishing was boat fishing,, but close to shore haunts.
I'm going out today with the boat for some trolling and winterizing preps. (ie; lazy man's fishing)
Then it gets put away for the season(?).

I didn't see much on the beach this year, but domestics kept me from playing very much. This fall was one thing after another here.

Already looking forward to next year.

Stay warm and sharpen those hooks.

Very weird year indeed. I had a Blast This Year. Many Large fish this year. Most of the biggens were off Block Island. But my usual spots payed off again like always but not as abundant as past years. Didn't break my PB from the surf this year of 39lbs. A couple 40's from the boat though. at least 100 over 20lbs. A couple nights got into em good with 20lb fish every cast. But in search for that 60 from surf still continues.
That pretty much sums it up I will fish till Thanksgiving and then hang em up. And get the Ice fishing stuff ready.
Good luck and Tight Lines
-Chad

Errrr,,
3 blues in 25-30 minutes!
Then I couldn't buy one if my life depended on it.
3 1/2 hrs, 3 blues, 16-18 lbs!, and nothing after or before.
No bass seen.
Out of Point Judy.
Grrrrr.
Boat may see another week before lay-up.
Tomorrow,,, around the corner for me.

I can't compare this year to past years as this has been my 1st year striper fishing. I've been very fortunate to have been mentored by some very knowledgable guys who have also become good friends. Nothing beats going fishing with people who share your same passion for fishing and having a good time. I've also been lucky enough to have caught several stripers in the 20 pound class. Nothing 30 pounds or above but that gives me something to shoot for. My personal best is 41" and I never thought I would catch a fish that big. It has been a blast and I hope next year is even better

Hey Sasquatch...nice pic....LOL

I hear ya, my friend. I really would like to make one more trip. Things are just too, up in the air, right now.
Tonight would be a perfect one for sure.

This whole week has been gorgeous. I was thinking last night when i got home how nice it would be to get out right now. My weeknights are filled at this point so i have to wait for this weekend. If this weekend doesn't produce anything for me. I will most likely be hanging up the rods and start turning wood.
