Trying to improve the odds in 2015
Looking to improve
Last year was my first real venture into fishing for stripers. I primarily fished on Plum Island. Living in VT the round trip time was about 4.5 hours. It was a long way to go but I thoroughly enjoyed the fishing.
I researched and read all I could about fishing this area. Bucktails and mackerel out on the jetty, clams and worms on the beach, more artificials than I can even think of. I watched the tide charts and tried to find the most favorable days to fish. Most of my fishing was done at night. While I enjoyed walking the beach through the night, most of the time I came up short. With all of that said, I'm reaching out for suggestions on how to improve my odds at catching stripers this year. If you were me, what are the three things you would do to increase your odds of catching fish in the Plum Island area.
