need help for road trip

I'm thinking about venturing down to New bedford or Rhode Island next weekend to wet some lines. I was looking for some areas to fish from shore. I was also wondering if ther was any action starting up down there hopefully the water is alittle warmer down there. This week of cold rain probablywon't help.

Water's still gonna be pretty cold next weekend with rain most of the week and temps hovering in the 40's. Supposed to be partly cloudy next Saturday with a high of 50,, so in spite of the water temps, probably a good time to get out and do some scouting. I'm sure there are schoolies to be had right now.

Gooseberry Island at the end of Horseneck Beach is a well know area for shore fishing. Though its been slow for me in the early spring the last couple years, you never know. Might be worth checking out this weekend. I'll be around somewhere Saturday afternoon I'm sure. Depending on wind and surf action I might even launch the kayak from the island and check out some of the rock piles,,, rivers are probably going to be a wash after all this rain for another week or so.
