ok I have a problem with the striper regulations 18 to 28 inches I can live with that ,,, but y did they allow 40 and over you can keep you get huge females with a gazillion eggs you kill like millions of fish makes no sense to me but that's just me
They want to allow guys to keep a "trophy" fish, and also the theory is, from what I've heard, that some of those bigger older fish are starting to get beyond their prime.... egg quality is starting to drop. Many 28 to 40 inch fish also have close to a gazillion eggs.
If you measure length and Girth, there are companies who will make a replica of the fish if you want a wall hanger. Picture speak louder than words as well.
I agree with McDragon!! It's the ones with the big egos & "small rods" that have to over compensate by keeping a 40" trophy fish!! No longer need to with the quality of the cameras in todays smartphones..
I don't think it matters much how short your rod is.....you'll always catch somethin'.....but, if it hangs sloppy or smells funny , you're dead in the water.
