Any idea what sort of net? What were they netting for? That is such a shame...I wonder how many of those cows were caught that didn't make it.

WHAT NET'S...??

Trawler's are illegal above the George Washington Bridge... We're talking about Newburgh...

Again I say... WHAT NET'S...??

The "striper hype" is getting rather heavy..... All these reports about huge fish....yet all that River Basin Sport's has to support such hype is a 39" fish... and more fish stories............

The inclement weather has done nothing but extend everyone's winter cabin fever.... We're desperate to get out there and see some nice fish caught... Until then, rumors and gossip mungers will prevail...

The rains just won't stop, the raging muddy water's continue, cold temperatures persist, and the Fish God's are sleeping in until the high waters subside...

Till the next high tide....

I've seen large boats dragging nets in the Coyeyman/Schodack area in the past, this is illegal?

A good friend of mine always says to me about fish stories "No piccy no fishy!" And I think that definitely fits here! Everyone has cameras on their phones these days and I know if they tried to release it and it did not survive like the story says someone should have a picture of it! Outdoorsman's record is safe!!!

it should be illegal to net fish like that....

i caught a 38.5" 22lb fmale on my first cast/worm this year...

took me 20 minutes to revive her after the fight, but she swam away sound. :) felt amazing.
now, my buddys 8lb male was a good keeper ;) but he released as well

Nice job! It does make you feel good when they swim away like that!

So far bad, nothing but smalls or catifsh/perch...started fishing last week, had 2 runs but that was it, fish spit the hook out both times. Got a feeling it will heat up soon from shore
