Default Shad on Hardy Lake

I'm new to the site. I've fished for stripers on Lake Cumberland since I was probably 5 years old with my dad. I bought a boat of my own last july and I'm ready to do some more striper fishing.

So here's my question. I was planning on getting to the lake about 3:30am to go out and put a light out so I could bring the bait in and throw the cast net to catch shad. Now at Cumberland we have Threadfin shad and they come to the light really nice. I can't for the life of me figure out if Hardy has threadfin or Gizzard. I'm assuming gizzard because patoka and monroe have gizzard. If it is gizzard shad, will Gizzard shad come to a light so I can throw my cast net to catch bait.
