Drop the wire leader asap, that is a BIG NO when it comes to striper fishing, throw them in the garbage, don't need wire leaders even fishing for bluefish, I have caught PLENTY of big bluefish wile striper fishing and I never lost a plug, or a blue due my fluorocarbon leader's. You chunk bait, I dont, replace chunk bait fishing with live eels, and try fishing at night. I am not familiar with your area but try fishing an area that you know the bass come in, and go out of, such as the mouth of a river, etc.......

your fish are feeding early am and at dusk. figure to be fishing from false dawn till dawn with just the bunker head and throw it under the bridge pilings. if you are in an area with surrounding structure in all 15ft of the "zone" find somewhere the fish will lay up till it's feeding time again.. should'nt bee too difficult to see. sneak up on a point of interest at these times and just use a head as it is not a full meal and is easy to negotiate. and it will be the first thing they see on thier way to the feed bag. i cannot see the picture you paint but all i see is a bridge and i would be surprized if there were not a fish sitting underneath for the preemminent strike before the hunt. a live eel in this spot would be my first choice however. but whatever they are feeding on is the go to bait. but like i said earlier. a bucktail is your best friend.

Thanks to all who replied and PM'd. There really are some great people on Stripers and I thank you. Hopefully I'll have something positive to report when I get off the water this evening.
