Default Squid Strips

Every year we precut squid from the asian market and freeze it for use all summer long. This year my cousin read somewhere to use food coloring and color the squid red and chartreuse. Red is simple, but does anyone have any clue what mixture to use for Chartreuse? I'm guessing Yellow and green, but quantities?????? Hopefully I can experiment and come up with the right mixture.....if anyone know please let me know :D

I think its 4 parts Yellow to 1 part Turquoise...(so I've heard)

I think it would be more 2 parts Yellow and 1 part Green...but thats just a guess... :!:

Well I mixed it up, and its defenitely more yellow than green, and damn green is a dark food coloring.....I now have a tub of red, which turned out perfect, a tub of green, perfect if I was trying to make green LOL, and the closest I got to chartreuse was the last one and it was more yellow than green but they are still not quite right....I guess I'll have to play around with the food coloring a little more to come up with the right mixture.....

LOL, it'll look like christmas on my plate with all the red and green.....Damn, now I can't wait for the Flounder, croakers, spot and trout to move into the bay so I can try out my new colored squid......Should be interesting, and who cares, if it doesn't work, its only about $30 worth of bait.....I can go through twice that on a good weekend if I shop at the Bait and Tackle.....
