Personal best today with 46 fish boated, largest was 28in. Great day on the river, brought two guys from work, first time stripers. Back on the river tomorrow afternoon. Lots of debris in the river this morning.

Another good day in the books despite the sutprise rain this am. We boated 42 with the last one being a 39.5" spawned out 21lb cow well after dark when it was dead calm. She barely tapped the line but when I set the hook she barely moved then darted straight down. We started tha morning in Newburgh bay with 27. A huge school moved in just below the NBB but were not aggressively feeding. I had to jig the bait to entice them and every fish was 30-35". When the rest of the boats moved in they dispersed. We headed up to the Poughkeepsie bridge and slack to ebb was good with another 15 up to 28". So far slack tide has brought the best bite. Newburgh water temps were 60 and Poughkeepsie 59. Here are some pics...including Iceman.

This morning was tough with the unexpected wind but when it finally died the big cows began feeding. We ended up with 24 for the day up to 39.5". We caught lots of fish over 30" today and they all just tapped the lines and never ran until the hook was ser.....then they ran straight down. The IBM plant to the Poughkeepsie bridge produced well.....we found 18 ft down to bee the feeding zone. The water temp got up to 62.4 today. This was also the first day we marked fish on the West shores in any numbers too.....probably post spawners staging to head south. Tomorrow looks wet but we will be back out in the am.

Spent Thursday in Newburgh from 6PM until almost midnight, a lot of smaller fish, 1 @ 26" and [email protected] 32". It was dead calm and we were marking tons of fish just south of the bridge and close to the Beacon shoreline.

Friday we moved around all over Newburgh bay but had a hard time finding large schools. Hit a few here and there then moved up past Whites around 1PM. Hit 2 decent fish in 10min just south of the crusher. The rest of the day (until about 8PM) we caught a lot of small fish.

Fished Friday pm around POK bridge between 3 and 5:30 and caught 3 all around 25in. Did not mark any large schools. Had one hit that was a freight train and bent the rod completely over and dropped immediately. Back out Sunday
