Fishing will be great. Catching on the other hand....
That's the truth. It will depend on all the usual suspects, water temp, bait, wether or not I've caught them all but I wouldn't expect great things. Good luck.

6they will be here in may you just have to specifically target the herring run, you'll see about 200 guys lining the rocks so it shouldn't be hard to miss. good luck!
Herring are A-Plenty however just as the Canal fishes the bass are in and out. The herring run is already seeing is share of eager fishermen, however only shorts as of this weekend. There was a brief visit from a few keeper size fish but they were absent this weekend.
I was there about a week ago my buddy and I ran into a huge school small stripers the bigest one was 26" the fish are there if only we had some herring...
Yeah again I'd forget the sea herring in the Canal, you can be more productive throwing a bucktail and you won't have the 40 guys that are trying to plug next to you at the run wanting to beat you up ;)
