LAKE ELSINORE (KABC) -- Aquatic experts at Lake Elsinore are trying to save the lake's striped bass. More then 3,200 pounds of striped bass are being restocked to help revitalize the population of a fish prized by anglers.
Experts say carp stir up sediment at the bottom of the lake and eat the eggs of the striped bass. Nearly one-and-a-half million carp have been removed from the lake as part of a five year plan to save the bass.

"So we've been temporarily stocking these hybrid striped bass - which don't reproduce - in the lake as a measure to control carp offspring and these excessive minnows," said Lake Elsinore Aquatic Services Director Pat Kilroy.
