Do you do most of your striper fishing from the shore - boat - freshwater - saltwater - river - marsh - or lake? I thought it would be fun to poll you guys.
way up river . lots of eelgrass and a deep channel.
I have best luck about sundown . I like lures , home made wood , rubber shads .3-4-5" stuff . but once it gets dark , they dont take my lures .
there are stripers evrywhere feeding on 1.5" and smaller bait fish,
Got any sugestions? Thanks in Maine.
Since I've moved inland I've had to Fish for Stripers in the River this past season. All my Striper Chasing has been done with top water lures I make in my garage.
cool_blue.gif I am a Saltwater Boat Fisherman! I love trolling, chumming or my newly found action "Livelining the Spot" just can't beat it on fun and excitement! Although nothing beats trolling the early spring Trophy season either, never know what could be on that other end of that Penn Rod when the drag is just a screaming......
i do most of my fishing from the beaches of south jersey. generally either right in the surf in Brigantine NJ or from the jetties at Cape May Point, which is just inshore from the Cape May Rips.
Fresh water river tailwaters from the shore w/12' surf rod.
Fresh water river from the shore w/8.5' steelhead rod.
Fresh water lakes in somebody else's boat!

Most of my fishing is from my boat with occasional forages into the surf. My # 1 choicethumbsup.gif is catching bass on the fly rod but I'll use other tackle as well.
It is Feb 1st. It is raining in my area in Mass. The local ponds haven't froze once to go ice fishing. So the only fishing I do is in my sleep. The fishing has been great and the stripers have been HUGE. I am hoping to beat my personal best caught last night. A 69lber on a hand line.
I Always fish from a boat, usually close to shore.
