I travel two hours to the nearest Salt and 15 minutes to the upper Delaware,
very hit and miss for Stripers up this far.
It's 40 minutes to nearest freshwater impoundment but without a boat its pretty much just a nice day out.
I have traveled - from Maine to Virginia.
Eastern long Island is 4 1/2 hours.
How far is it for you?

I currently live in NC and every year for the past 6 or so years I've been driving or flying to CT to stay at my friends to striper fish. A few years ago we started to go to Montauk too. So I was driving from Nags Head, NC to Wallingford, Ct, then we would go to Montauk, NY. He moved down here this past December and now in September we are both moving back to CT, now we will always be near the stripers. The drive from NC to CT can be anywhere from 9 to 12 hours.

I'm lucky that I live by the Housatonic River, so depending on where, what parts, and what side I want to fish on, it can range from a 5 minutes ride to no more than a 20 minute ride. I usually like to fish in the fresh/salt mix or higher up where its fresh water.
