I travel two hours to the nearest Salt and 15 minutes to the upper Delaware,
very hit and miss for Stripers up this far.
It's 40 minutes to nearest freshwater impoundment but without a boat its pretty much just a nice day out.
I have traveled - from Maine to Virginia.
Eastern long Island is 4 1/2 hours.
How far is it for you?

From my house on the N. E. river in Md. I'm a 5 min walk. to the Suski Flats i'm about 15 min drive. But the fishing is bad at these points. Now to O.C. Md i drive about 2.5 hrs, to the Delaware sea shore 2 hrs. I like fishing these beaches better.:flyfish:

I am actually where the river meets the ocean I can walk to the river/bay or surf. We used to have a big striper fishery here in Winchester Bay Oregon on the Mighty Umpqua and Smith River. Much smaller now. We had a large mouth striper cross but it did not make it because we had mutations of both sex organs on the same fish.
