AHhhhh yes, the striper season is near upon us now and the alewife run is soon to start. The bass are starting their migration and we should see some good fish early on, it has been an unusually warm/mild winter and a great spring to start! Can't wait to be at hells gate sittin back as the water swirls around holding pockets of large bass just 22' below Well good luck, and keep your reels lubed, don't want to lose that big one

Hells gates is my probably one of my favorite places to fish, lost the biggest fish i had on last year there just before the end of the upper gate. Can't wait to be out there either.

Let me know when you're there, maybe we can enjoy it together, i've had a lot of big fish on, and lost and i've caught a lot of big fish too. I'm sure we can share some fishing tips together for the river

Hells gate is part of the sasanoa river, it connects with the kennebec river, the upper entrance to the sasanoa river is across from bath iron works, in bath, maine the whole upper part of that is a great spot, you can catch them right in from of bath iron works, under the bridge, and in the sasanoa

Probably not, fish aren't in here until mid to late may - should be in a little early this year...but most likely not by the end of april especially in boothbay...

Hey jigman, i've heard a lot of good things about your techniques, as you'll see i posted a reply in the main forum i'd like to get together to do some fishing on the kennebec with you, my boat or yours, doesn't matter to me, i'd enjoy learning. Been fishing there for about 8 years now

Hells Gate is a fantastic spot... Not too far down the Sasanoa and you'll be near the place where the Maine record was caught in the Sheepscott.

Oh, and Lucky420, it's too early for bass in Boothbay harbor by about a month. The fishing over that way starts considerably later than even that in the Kennebec not too far away.
