I shop in tackle shops. I buy from local people where ever I may be. Sometimes it results in info, sometimes it results in saving money by not buying the wrong thing, sometimes in friendships. Sometimes I just get what I need and that is it.
I would encourage anyone to buy locally from folks in the communities we live and fish. The last thing I want is to go to Walmart. Especially for tackle.
If you can't find it locally, ask them. A catalog may be the only option for something such as plug making supplies, but for jigs or any of the everyday stuff? No contest.
BUY LOCAL! Especially in this economy. Saving 14 cents by going to wallyworld is doing no one any favors.
