Since the Stripers blew by the Chesapeake Bay for the second year in a row, Chris, JC, Thuy, Tommy and I felt that if we were to enjoy some beer battered striper anytime soon we would need to head south, way south to find the fish. After looking at the weather we decided Sunday would be they day and after hearing that the Oregon inlet ramp was a zoo on Saturday we figured we would make the 50 nm run from Rudee rather than tow to OI. We found the fish at the Wright Memorial barely inside the 3 nm line. We steady picked up fish and had our limit of 10 fish from 25 to 40 pounds by 10:45. After that we played around with the fish catching and releasing ‘em on light tackle. Packed up and ran home at 1:00 pm
All the fish were caught in 39 degree water, 60 feet of water, 8 nm south of Duck pier right at the 3 nm line. The fish were not picky they hit everything we had out.
All in all we ended up catching about 25 fish to 40 pounds or so. A super day on the water. Thanks to: Tommy, Thuy, JC and Chris!!!
