I got an OldTown canoe with small MinnKota 30# and used it a lot - always had biggest deepcycle battery I could get - like 27 or 29 size. works good. Heavy to carry around but helps to keep the bow down out of the wind if you keep it up front. jumper cables to run back to motor. get a decent charger. Charge it up full every chance you get, at least overnight, and they can last a few years. Put a cheap float charger on it over winter or it won't last as long. it should run a small bilge pump as well as the motor no problem. Always charge it as soon as you can after running it down. If you let it sit at half charge it won't last very long at all.

Holy shit...........when I bought them from Myersone directly it was $3 for 2 rattle sinkers............anyway I think they will work great esp in the murky Hudson to attract Striper.........I attended the lecture when he explained how he discovered the proper decible/Hz that works best and he has proven it over and over with his record catches.
